Both HMRC and many accountants only become really interested once this has happened – because that’s the way the system is built. Do the business, then report the business and then pay your taxes.

Self-Assessment Tax Returns (SATR)
This needs to be done by the 31st January every year for the previous tax year. At the latest. So that’s the January after the April 5th Tax Year ends.
